EDINA, Minn. (July 9, 2020) The Independent Community Bankers of America (ICBA) has named Edina-based Crown Bank to its nationwide 2020 Top Lenders List in the commercial category for banks with under $500M in assets.
ICBA used FDIC data for 2019 and calculated a lender score out of 100 for each community bank. The score combines the average of the bank’s percentile rank for lending concentration and for loan growth over the past year in each lending category. Each score was adjusted for loan charge-offs in each category at certain percentile thresholds.
“It’s an honor to be recognized as a top lender in our category nationwide by ICBA,” said Jeff Wessels, President and COO of Crown Bank. “It’s an exciting time to be a community bank when it is more important than ever for businesses to have a strong personal working relationship with their banker. This recognition is a reflection of our outstanding team at Crown Bank and their deep commitment to our customers.”
There are nearly 5,000 community banks in the country and close to 280 in Minnesota. Crown Bank was ranked 16th in its category.
According to the ICBA article:
“There’s no doubt that 2019 looked very different than 2020 in all areas of life, and community banking was no exception. But our top lenders’ exceptional performance last year has set them up for success even in a time of turmoil. Read on to meet the year’s most successful loan producers in the agriculture, commercial and consumer/mortgage categories.”
Crown Bank has been on a strong growth trajectory and has been expanding its leadership team in the past year.
“I’m extremely proud of our team of seasoned banking professionals who have been on the front lines in the past few months delivering exceptional service to so many businesses when being nimble and reliable is paramount to our clients’ success,” Wessels said.
